Bentota River:
Very beautiful river and I advise you to take this trip. There is lots of vegetation, lots of animal life to see. You can see all kinds of houses and hotels and local way of life on the river banks. There are beautiful green trees, mangroves on the river banks.
Animals: Snakes, birds, crocodiles, varan

Elephant orphanage, Elephant bathing
You will see baby elephants here, along with as big as they get elder elephants. You can feed the young ones with milk, or help bathing the big ones in the river.

Tea Plantage
Very amazing to see these big tea plantages and those girls that have to work so hard. They earn around 1€ a day and to earn that they have to collect about 15kg of tea leafs. Visit a plantage where workers are not allowed to approach you, otherwise it can get a little uncomfortable.

Kandy –Temple, Kandy dance, Botanical garden
Well you have to see the big temple in Kandy. You will be amazed to see how many people are there. Also the heavy security when you enter the temple will.
Kandy dance is also nice thing to see. It was nice to sit down for a change and have a cold beer and enjoy the dance.
Botanical garden itself is so beautiful that you should take at least half a day to walk around and enjoy its beauty. It is very well arranged and they have so many different trees, plants, flowers to see. Cannon tree, Benjamin are just one of those must see things in here…
Sigirya – 8th wonder of the world – Amazing rock
This is definitely a place to see. You will be just amazed of what people build with their bare hands. No wonder SriLankans call it 8th wonder of the world. We had an amazing guide who showed us around. This “Rock” wouldn’t be so amazing if you don’t hear the story behind it. So make sure that you get someone who will tell you all about it.
Dambula – temples, temples, temples...
Well if you are interested in temples it has to be your lucky day. Because here you can see dozens of temples on your way. So many beautiful temples, where each one has its own story.
Hotel Neptun – Beruwala
Neptun hotel for us was ok. Rooms could have been better but as long as there is a mosquito net and comfortable bed its good enough since you will use your room just to sleep. Staff is great, very kind, helpful. Food, the food I tell you, is just great. Variety of food and sweets makes you want to try all that food. Everybody will find something for themselves. Those curry meat balls, curry souse, steamed vegetables, chicken, pork, sea food, wonderful salads that are sweat, or with dressings that has like tons of pepper in it. Papaya juice, other fruit… like I said, you won’t be hungry.
